My name is Rachel and I’m the founder of Bay Fertility. I have five children and live on the North East coast with my husband, children and our two chocolate Labradors Budda and Indi.
It was whilst studying for a degree in psychology with counselling skills that I gave birth to my 4th baby. I have always had deep rooted interest in human biology and this interest has naturally grown into a passion. Not long after the birth of my 4th baby I made the decision to specialise in women’s reproductive health and birth. I trained to become Mizan Abdominal Therapist (womb massage) with Bushra Finch. I then also decided to do further training with the NCT and University of Worcester studying for a degree in Birth and Beyond. Since then I have further advanced my training in Mizan and I’m an adavanced Mizan Therapist. I have since attended a Doula preparation course to become a certified Doula with Red Tent Doula’s with Nicola Mahdiyyah Goodall having also attended the breasfeeding workshop also with Nicola.
I’m currently training with Fertility Care Scotland and Billings Method England to become an accredited teacher of fertility awareness based methods (FABM). This work is centred around reproductive health and fertility for women or couples looking to achieve or avoid pregnancy. This is something which I am very passionate about and will be offering workshops in spring 2020.
I have a passion for working with women and their families and believe that every woman has the right to have a positive birth. With this in mind I volunteer to help co- facilitate The Positive Birth Movement group in North Tyneside on a monthly basis. This group is part of a global and national movement offering a free antenatal session for women who are expecting a baby, who have had a baby or for anyone with an interest in birth. I’m also facilitator to North Tyneside Maternal Journal workshops which will be starting this coming November, using creative journalling, art and poetry as a means of expressing, exploring the emotions, thoughts and feelings around pregnancy, birth and motherhood.
Bay Fertility has been born out of my love and passion for working with women. I offer a space for in which women will feel held and supported, without judgement to be met only with kindness and compassion.

Mizan (pronounced like Milan) is an Arabic word that means balance. By using traditional reproductive healing techniques, as a Mizan Therapist I will seek to restore balance when life feels unbalanced – physically, emotionally or spiritually. It is a gentle non-invasive massage working over the abdominal cavity, back and sacrum.

We will work together and look at other possible contributing factors such as diet and lifestyle which may be influencing any symptoms being experienced. *Any herbal remedies which are recommended as part of a treatment are sold separately and are not included in the cost of treatments.
